NaPoWriMo 2020 – Day 30: The Thing The Birds Bring

Last day, Yay!!!  The prompt for today as this season of NaPoWriMo comes to an end is to write a poem about something that returns. Photo by Zane Lee on Unsplash

The songs
the birds bring
each spring
remind us
of the stirring
of life, darkness
yielding to the
lengthening light
and cherry blossoms
blooming again.
Hope is the thing
that birds bring
that after death
comes life,
and rebirth.

  1. AJ, this is a very lovely poem, a fantastic finish for your NaPoWriMo adventure! Some wonderful imagery in this that should make us all less afraid of death and more keen to try to get the most out of our lives with every single moment that we have. An excellent piece indeed! I also notice that you have written other impressive motivational poems in the month of April, including two other favourites of mine ‘Found Things’ and ‘Catching Light’.
I have an inspirational poetry journal called “Auroras & Blossoms Poetry Journal” that has just published its third issue and we are running a special NaPoWriMo Anthology issue for inspirational poems written in NaPoWriMo 2020. If you are interested in submitting any of the wonderful poems of yours that I just mentioned above (including The Thing The Birds Bring) into our NaPoWriMo Anthology for publication then you can find more details below. We are also open to regular submissions all year round as well for inspirational poetry submissions.

Hope you take the time to check us out, I’m sure our readers would love to get a chance to enjoy reading your poetry 🙂
